If you are eligible for the Hope Inspired Ministries program, here are the next steps you need to take to apply:

How To Apply

The First Steps to Becoming a Student

There are four requirements to successfully enter our program:

1. Applicants must be between the ages of 18-49. Part of helping our students become self-sufficient is to train them on how to be responsible for their own lives. Many of our young students are heavily dependent on adults (generally parents or guardians) to conduct all their business and do not possess a sense of personal responsibility. We force our students to learn how to be accountable and not dependent on others to take care of their responsibilities.

2. Applicants must be able to read at a minimum on a 6th grade level. Each applicant is tested on their reading level to ensure they have the ability to keep up with the academic requirements of the course.

3. Applicants must be drug free. We conduct 100% drug test at the beginning of our course and prior to our students attending their internships. We conduct weekly random drug tests the remaining time. In order for our students to successfully enter the workforce, they must be drug free. We have found that when hopelessness is replaced with a real purpose in life, the desire to escape life through drug use is greatly diminished.

4. Applicants must possess the desire to do something different with your life. We have proven that if a student does not desire change in their life, they will not be successful at HIM. Primarily, because this course demands so much self-reflection and personal change and that is incredibly difficult for anyone. A student must be “sick and tired of being sick and tired” or they simply will not make it to the finish line.

Once you meet those qualifications, here are the steps to apply:

    1. Attend Orientation

Prior to each class, Hope Inspired Ministries will offer multiple one-hour orientations where a potential student–and any adult/guardian that is interested–can learn everything that Hope Inspired Ministries offers and answer any questions/concerns you might have. This includes rules, expectations, the curriculum and any additional information to give a greater understanding on the job-training program. You MUST attend an orientation before you can be scheduled for an interview.

    2. Interview

Following orientation, each potential student should call the Hope Inspired Ministries office to schedule an interview. This interview will consist of several questions that focus on the potential students’ background, current family and living situation, and other general questions to help the staff get to know the student better and to ensure he or she would be a good fit for the program. We take people with all sorts of backgrounds–from past addictions, criminal history, etc. These things will not keep you from entering the program, however, we do expect you to be honest when answering our questions. Once the student has completed the interview, they will be scheduled to come back for a drug test.

    3. Drug Testing

All potential students will be drug tested before entering the program. Once students pass the drug test, they will be enrolled for the upcoming class.

Montgomery orientation is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at 145 Coliseum Boulevard.  Birmingham orientation is every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at 6523 First Avenue. The Hayneville campus orientation is every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at 60 Curve Drive.
