Three Ways To Become A Volunteer
We have a few options for you to give your time to help the students we serve. Your time is valuable, and we can’t thank you enough for giving time to help us!
Become A Mentor
If you have the desire to give back and help someone move to a better place in life, mentoring is for you. Relationships are the heart of what we do at HIM, and as a mentor, you will form a lasting relationship with your mentee. In doing so, you will become part of the transformation equation in their lives. The requirement to be a mentor is minimal. You are asked to visit your mentee on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday for one hour at lunch each week and simply share a meal together; the lunch is provided. During this time, you share life and experiences with your mentee.
Time required: 1 hour each week for four weeks.

Anybody can be a lunch provider! We need volunteers to provide a meal for our students each day and bring it to our facility. You can choose prepare the lunch yourself, partner with a group, or cater from local restaurants. This meal is a relaxing way for students and volunteers to get to know each other. Lunch is from 12 – 1 p.m. everyday and the meal needs to be here by 11:50 a.m. You are welcome to stay and eat with us or leave the lunch for us to serve.
If you or your business would like to provide lunch, contact us at email@example.com
A majority of our students need help and encouragement when it comes to academics and computer work. We are always looking for volunteers to help individual students in academic areas where they struggle to help them train for their GED. The subjects focused on for the GED include reading, writing, social studies, science and math. For our current students, we tutor on Monday’s and Tuesday’s from 1-4 pm.
Time required: 2-3 hours
